Coaches' Corner

Welcome to the Coaches' Corner Sports Show!

This year our coaches will be popping in to give some insight into the realm of athletics. We will touch on several different topics that will range from NJSIAA, Shore Conference, B-South and general athletics. I hope you enjoy their thoughts and we encourage you at home to participate. If you have a question or comment regarding rule interpretations, rules in general, or any positive thoughts you can email me jgermano@btsk12.com  and I will see if we can get a coach's perspective of the rule. This page is intended to educate and keep our athletic family informed of the sports we love so much. The theme of our first instalment is sportsmanship. It is important for all of us to remember that all participants are doing the best they can and they need our support to reach their goals. So I thought a great way to start is to post the Shore Conference of New Jersey's take on sportsmanship. The following is taken directly from the shore conference handbook...

" The Shore Conference of high schools believes sportsmanship is an expectation! So please let the players play, let the coaches coach, let the officials official, let the spectators be positive; SHORE CONFERENCE PRIDE"

Sportsmanship is a top priority of the Shore Conference, and the NJSIAA. Participants, coaches and spectators have developed guidelines for positive, sportsmanlike behavior. Admission to an event entitles you to enjoy an exhibition of skills developed by our student-athletes.

Please give these young people your positive encouragement and support. Your effort to applaud the talents of all players is appreciated.

Booing, taunting or intimidating the officials, coaches or opponents is unacceptable and un-sportsmanlike.

Please be a positive role model to those around you. Help make each contest one which we can all be proud of by promoting your team in a positive manner.
