Morgan Capaezzara: Head Gymnastics Coach

The 2016 Gymnastics season was Coach Capaezzara's first as Head Coach of the Lady Bengals.  She brings an energy and excitement to the program that has the girls motivated to compete at the highest level of New Jersey High School Gymnastics.

Coach comes to use with both Cheerleading and Gymnastics experience at both Lehigh University and Rowan University.  As a high school athlete Coach Capaezzara was a New Jersey State Champion on the balance beam.  Coach is a member of BHS's Child Study Team and looks to lead our Gymnastics program for years to come.

Mary Cammarata: Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach

Coach Cammarata has been our Varsity Girls Soccer Coach since 2010. She served as a Varsity Assistant for two years prior to taking over the program.  

Prior to coming to Barnegat Coach Cammarata attended St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia where she played intercollegiate Rugby.  She spent her high school days participating in Soccer and Track & Field at Monsignor Donovan. 

Coach has accumulated 58 Varsity wins, she guided our program to its 1st State Playoff victory in 2010, and the team qualified for the Shore Conference Tournament for the first time in 2011.  Under her guidance our girls received the Shore Conference Referee Sportsmanship Award in 2010 and 2011. Coach Cammarata also serves as an Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach in the Spring.

Emily Cherry: Head Varsity Swimming Coach

Coach Cherry is currently in her 12th year at the helm of our swim program having compiled 91 career wins. Prior to coming to Barnegat she served as the Head Coach at Somerville HS for 3 years and Moanalua HS, Hawaii for 2 years.

Coach has been involved in swimming since the age of 11.  She swam at Hillsborough High School and at Washington College; serving as a team captain at both levels.  She began coaching a summer team her senior year of high school and was an Assistant Coach on a local club team throughout college.

Coach Cherry has also been our Varsity Girls Cross Country Coach (2013) and was an Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach from 2005-2009.

Ryan Dalon: Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach

Coach Dalon has been in control of our Lacrosse program for the past 12 seasons.  He has grown the program from its infancy to where it is now; a perennial contender for the division title.

Coach went to Moorestown High School where he played Football, Wrestling and Lacrosse.  Following high school he attended Radford University where he continued his Lacrosse career.  Coach has also been a member of our Football and Tennis staffs in the Fall and Wrestling staff in the Winter throughout his time in Barnegat.

Robert Davis: Head Varsity Football Coach

Coach Davis has been at the helm of our program since its inception.  Prior to taking on the task of building a football program for Barnegat Township Schools he was an Assistant Coach at both Lacey Twp. HS and Southern Regional HS.  He spent his college days playing Wide Receiver for William Paterson University.

Since becoming a Varsity Football program Coach Davis has led our program to the playoffs 6 times (2006, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, & 2014) and won 3 B-South Championships (2011, 2013, & 2014).  He has been B-South Coach of the Year and Ocean County Coach of the Year on numerous occasions.  He has successfully placed 40 of our student athletes into college programs.  Coach is a respected member of the Shore Football Coaches Association as well as the New Jersey High School Football Coaches Association.

 
Joe Doviak: Head Varsity Track Coach (Winter & Spring)

Coach Doviak has been the leader of Barnegat High School's Track program since 2007.  As Head Coach of our Winter Program and Boys Coach in the Spring he has fostered both individual and team success.  His athletes have won titles at the County, Section, and State levels; and his teams have brought home multiple B South Championships.

Coach Doviak is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in History, & Art History. He has a Level 1 USATF coaching certification, concentration in Endurance events. He was a camp advisor for Clarion University Cross Country Camp in 2007.  He was a varsity letter winner and captain at Toms River High School East in Cross Country, Winter, and Spring Track and Field. He is currently an active member of the Jersey Shore Running Club.

Dan McCoy: Head Varsity Baseball Coach

Coach McCoy is entering his 7th season as our Varsity Baseball Coach after serving 4 years as a Varsity Assistant.  Under his tutelage the program has risen to state prominence.  Compiling a 69-57 record during his tenure; Coach McCoy was named B-South Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2014 and Ocean County Coach of the Year in 2014.

Coach McCoy had a stellar high school baseball career as a pitcher at St. John Vianney HS in Holmdel.  He took that success to Rutgers University where he became a New Jersey College Baseball All-Star in 1994.

Coach McCoy is an active member of the Barnegat community.  His three children have been/are participants in Barnegat Athletics.  Coach has also served as an Assistant Football Coach during his tenure with the Bengals.

Mike McCullion: Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach

Coach McCullion is a graduate of Monsignor Donovan High School where he was a stand out varsity letter winner and four year starter. In 1995 he was named team captain, MVP, and a member of the Shore Conference All-Star team. Coach continued to shine on the field as he played soccer for the College of New Jersey and graduated with a degree in Physical Education & Health. 

Coach is still active in the local soccer community as a player and manager. He has achieved a soccer coaching "F" license."  Coach McCullion has been an Assistant on the Girls Lacrosse staff and is currently our JV Boys Tennis Coach in the Spring.
 
Michael L. Palmieri: Head Girls Softball Coach and Head Boys Bowling

Coach Palmieri has been a part of Barnegat Township School District Athletics since the 2003-2004 school year.  After coaching softball for one season at the Russell O. Brackman Middle School, Palmieri spent the next five seasons as the junior varsity coach at Barnegat High School.  During the 2010 season he moved to the varsity level where he served as an assistant and interim head coach.  Coach took over the program in 2015 and enters the 2017 season with two years under his belt.

After spending two years coaching soccer at the middle school, Palmieri has spend the last 11 seasons with the Bengals soccer program.  During his tenure with BHS soccer he has served as both the varsity assistant and the JV coach.

Coach has also served as the head boys' bowling coach since the program's inception during the 2004-2005 school year.

Mike Puorro: Boys Varsity Basketball Coach

Coach Puorro is entering his 13th year of coaching high school basketball and will be entering his 3rd season as the Head Basketball Coach at Barnegat High School. Prior to his arrival at Barnegat, Coach Puorro spent two seasons as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Point Pleasant Borough, two seasons as the Freshman Basketball Coach at Barnegat High School and six seasons as the Head Basketball Coach at Wall Township HS.

Coach Puorro possesses a great deal of knowledge regarding what it takes to be successful in the game of basketball as he was the Boy's All-Time Leading Scorer at Point Pleasant Borough High School from 2002-2012 (Currently is second).  In his first season as the Head Basketball Coach at Barnegat High School, Coach Puorro was voted 2014-2015 Division Coach of the Year by his peers.  Coach Puorro was also voted 2012-2013 Monmouth County Coach of the Year by the Star Ledger Newspaper.  

In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Puorro is the President of the Shore Conference Basketball Coaches Association, a Health & Physical Education teacher & Head Girls Golf Coach at Wall Township High School.

Sue Rogers: Varsity Girls Tennis Coach/Varsity Girls Golf Coach

Coach Rogers has been coaching in the Shore Conference for the past 28 years. She joined the Bengals when the school opened and has been a mainstay within our Tennis and Golf Programs.

Coach Rogers has been at the helm of our Girls Tennis program for the past 13 years.  During her tenure our Lady Bengals have won B South titles on separate occasions (2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015).  Her Tennis accomplishments include receiving the Tennis Coach of the Year Award from the NJSIAA in 2015.  She has also developed our Challenger League Tennis program and has been actively involved with the Special Olympics and the United States Tennis Association.

Coach has also successfully guided of Girls Golf program since its inception. She was an integral part in establishing our Challenger Golf program, our summer golf camps, and is a Special Olympics Golf instructor/coach.  

Coach Rogers has helped build the foundation of Barnegat Athletics.  She works in the HS as part of our Child Study Team and impacts the lives of our students in a plethora of ways on a daily basis. 
 
 


Shannon Smith: Head Varsity Cheerleading Coach

A graduate of Southern Regional High School and a four year varsity letter winner in cheerleading; Coach Smith continued her career cheering for High Point University in High Point, North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Criminal Justice and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration & Supervision. 

Coach Smith has built our nationally ranked cheer program from the ground up.  Her team is currently the 2016 Group II State Champions and they are also ranked 6th in the Nation. Their performance from the National High School Cheerleading Championship was featured on ESPN 2 in April. In 2005, Coach Smith was named the "Top Rookie Coach" by the National Cheerleader Association.

Keith Stokes:  Head Boys Cross Country Coach

Coach Stokes has been in charge of our Boys Cross Country program for the past four seasons.  He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is a United States Marine Corps veteran.  Coach Stokes is a professional lifeguard and has been involved in health and fitness and martial arts for the past 20 years.

Lyndsey Torre

Coach Torre is set to start her 1st season as our Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach.  She comes to us after spending the last two years as an Assistant Coach at Stockton University.  Coach as also served as an Assistant at Georgian Court and a Head Coach at Ultimate Club Lacrosse.

As a player at Kean University Coach Torre had an outstanding career.  She was a team captain during the 2012 and 2013 seasons and was team MVP during all four seasons (2010-2013).  She was selected 1st Team All-Sklyine Conference four times (2010-2013); She was selected 1st Team All NJAC two times (2012 & 2013).  She holds Kean University career records for goals, assists, points, groundballs, and draw controls.  She also holds single season records for goals, assists, and points.

Coach Torre is a Physical Education & Health Teacher at the High School and is also our Freshman Girls Basketball Coach in the Winter.

Trish Winkle: Head Field Hockey Coach

Coach Winkle has been our Varsity Field Hockey coach for the past two seasons.  During those campaigns our girls have improved immensely; being awarded the B South Sportsmanship Award by division coaches in 2015.  

She comes to us with a tremendous amount of coaching experience. From 2005-2012 she was an Assistant Coach/Head Goalkeeper Coach at Montclair State University.  During that time (2005-2009) she also served as the Head Coach at Irvington UFSD NY.

Her playing career at Montclair State University was tremendous.  She was twice a Regional All American; twice an all NJAC selection; she was the ECAC Tournament MVP in 2001; she was the Montclair State University Junior Athlete of the Year in 2002.  While at MSU her team was ECAC Champions in 2001 and in 2003 they made history by earning the schools 1st bid to the NCAA Championships.
