Email is the best way to contact me.

I have been an employee of the Barnegat School system for the last 28 years.  Twenty-three of those years were spent in the Cecil S. Collins School.
This is my fifth year in the Barnegat High School.  I miss the Collins School but I am fitting in well at the high school.  I have two excellent co-teachers:  Ms. Rossi and Ms. Piper.  I look forward to learning from each one.  The only problem is keeping up with the reading, as I will be doing, and in some cases redoing, the readings in all two classes at the same time. Ms. Rossi and Ms. Piper are excellent to work with.  They know so much and have wonderful ideas for making learning interesting and fun.  They are open to suggestions.  We work so well together,
It is an honor being picked as the "Teacher of the Year" in 2015.  It was quite a surprise.  But what do you expect.  You work with GREAT people, (And I mean all the teachers and students at the high school.) GREAT things happen.
My interests include, and are not limited to: aviation (I am a licensed Private pilot), Boy Scouts, woodworking, hiking, backpacking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, traveling, and bicycling.  I am also certified as a Wilderness and Remote First Aid instructor for the American Red Cross. I am a Vice President of Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 898.  We build airplanes in our garages for fun and education.  I am a member of the New Jersey Aviation Education Council. I am an adviser to an Aviation Exploring Club for 6th, 7th and 8th graders (boys and girls) exploring topics in aviation, and an adviser to high schoolers and older (boys and girls) exploring careers in aviation.  I am also a member of Women in Aviation, (the members are better looking and somewhat smarter) to encourage young women to pursue careers in aviation, from flying to maintenance.
My goals in life are to finish restoring my house, build and/or restore airplanes, backpack the Appalachian and Rocky Mountain Trails, and to learn to do aerobatics in an airplane.  I took an aerobatic lesson this last summer and it was exciting. I would also love to travel all over the world.

All homework for my students is listed on the Google Classroom site for that class they are in. Contact me or my coteacher for that class and we will provide you with a pass code, so you can have access to that Google Classroom site.
