Teacher Biography

I graduated from Hamilton High West in NJ in 1988. After high school I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and completed my basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. From there I was shipped off to Camp Pendleton California where I completed 3 months of Advanced Infantry Training. My first duty station was Marine Barracks Hawai'i. It was in Hawai'i that I served the duration of my enlistment and upon being Honorably Discharged chose to call home. While in Hawai'i I worked for the City & County of Honolulu Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services Division from 1996-2002 and earned my BA in Psychology and Minor in Zoology from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Upon moving back to NJ in the spring of 2002 I was hired as the Lifeguard Chief/Beach Supervisor for the Borough of Ship Bottom. So after 14 years in Hawai'i and a summer on Long Beach Island, NJ I found myself in the classroom for the first time during the 2002-2003 school year at Coastal Learning Center (CLC) in Tuckerton, NJ. It was during this time I went back to school to earn my Special Education certification. After working for 3 years at CLC I got a job at Southern Regional Middle School where I worked for 2 years and then was hired by the Barnegat Board of Education in 2007. I am certified in the State of NJ as a Teacher of Psychology, Teacher of the Handicapped (highly qualified in both mathematics and science), and Teacher of Elementary Education K-8. When I am not teaching I enjoy swimming, paddling, surfing, cross-fit training, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, and spending time with my family.
